Chelsea booked their spot in the semi finals of the Carabao cup courtesy of a late Morata goal narrowly seeing out a resilient Bournemouth side 2-1 at Stamford Bridge.

The game looked poised to go into extra time when Bournemouth got themselves level through a Dan Gosling goal at the 90th minute but Chelsea’s number 9 had other ideas as he slotted in the goal past Boruc to send the Blues through.

With the headlines being dominated by Willian and Morata for their crucial goals, perhaps the solid performance put in by youngster Ethan Ampadu went slightly under the radar.

The 17-year-old has made a good impression on the Chelsea staff following his move from Exeter City last summer and had a brilliant game in defense against the Cherries as he quietly went about his business shackling the slippery Jermaine Defoe.

With the Wales international looking mature beyond his years, a certain shutterbug managed to capture a brilliant moment while the youngster was trying to dictate the play to one of the best play makers around.

Cesc Fabregas may be second on the all time assist charts in England but the youngster still felt obliged to instruct him to square a pass into the Bournemouth box as Chelsea looked to break the Cherries’ stubborn defence.
