Harry Kane scored his second hat-trick in four days to eclipse Alan Shearer’s goalscoring record and also set a new Premier League record for most number of hat-tricks in a year during the 5-2 thrashing of Southampton tonight.
The treble of goals also took his total to 56 in 2017 for club and country to usurp Argentine maestro Lionel Messi as Europe’s most lethal finisher for the year.
Following the result Kane took to Twitter to celebrate his achievement by posting a photo with his Spurs teammates.
Apart from congratulating their talismanic striker, Spurs fans were also delighted to see Danny Rose’s apparent show of commitment to the club with the left-back seen pointing towards the Spurs badge in the photo.
The Three Lions full-back publicly criticised the club’s transfer policy last summer in an explosive interview with the Sun and has since been rumored to leave the North London club in the near future.
Amidst all the uncertainty, Spurs fans were delighted with the 30-year-old’s gesture and looked optimistic on Twitter with many expressing their hopes of seeing the England star in Spurs colours next year.
