(Image) Everton are selling t-shirts using an old picture of Liverpool fans on the front

Most jokes need a witty mind and a deep understanding of their target audience, but there are also some jokes that need none of this because they write themselves up.



Everton found itself on the receiving end of such a joke recently because of a shirt being sold in their online store. The graphics on the t-shirt depicted the Everton crest superimposed over a picture of fans at Goodison Park.

Sounds normal, right? Hardly. Little did they realize that the crowd on the picture was not composed of Everton supporters, but rather they were Liverpool fans!

The picture used on the shirt is apparently that of Reds supporters sitting at Anfield’s iconic Kop end and cheering during a match between Liverpool and Leeds United dating back to 1969.

For a club that shares a deadly rivalry with its neighbours, such a gaffe can only be described as blasphemy. Check out pictures of the shirt below –
