After a long summer, controversies, back-channel talks, and promises of a truckload of money, Virgil van Dijk’s transfer saga finally came to an end yesterday.



Southampton inevitably agreed to part with the Dutchman after Liverpool assured to pay a massive £75 million, effectively making him the most expensive defender in history.

The Reds had to face an arduous battle to sign their target. Apart from an adamant Southampton, their problems had also included a rap on their knuckles by the Premier League for their illegal approach towards the defender.

All things said and done, it was finally a relief for Liverpool fans to see Van Dijk’s signing, notwithstanding the hefty price tag which he came with.

And it’s not just Reds supporters who seem to be happy about the deal. Even tennis legend Boris Becker (a huge Bayern Munich and Chelsea fan) approved Liverpool’s latest acquisition through this tweet shown below –

VVD is definitely the player all LFC fans wanted he will be worth every penny .don’t forget he is only 26 and will grow under klop .for those who complains about the transfer fee its only sour grapes if any other top club like man u or man city ,Chelsea Arsenal Barca or Madrid bought him then they will say what n world class singing and don’t forget they been complaining since last season for us to buy n quality centre back now that we have its suddenly to much cash lol didn’t they say quality world class players are worth the money so ynwa well done liverpoolfc
