Liverpool fans were aware of the long range passing abilities that Virgil Van Dijk possessed when Jurgen Klopp signed the defender for a whopping £75 million from Southampton in the January transfer window.

Famous for spraying the ball across the field during his time at Southampton and Celtic, the Dutchman perhaps gave the first real glimpse of his ability in a Liverpool shirt during the 5-0 demolition job on FC Porto on Wednesday night.

The big defender not only brought calmness and composure to the defence but also channeled his inner Steven Gerrard during a moment in the game.
