The tension building up at Goodison Park is threatening to boil over, as many supporters continued to be unimpressed by Everton’s style of play despite grinding out a 1-0 victory over Newcastle.

Supporters seem adamant that Big Sam’s negative tactics are deeming Everton to mid table mediocrity but are apparently still behind the rest of the team, showing their support for the players on various social platforms.

Right-back Seamus Coleman was especially singled out for praise by both supporters as well as goalscorer Theo Walcott, for his world class defensive header in the dying embers of the match.

With the Toffees trying to secure all 3 points late on, Coleman rose brilliantly to clear away Jacob Murphy’s cross to secure a much needed win for the Merseyside club.

Clearances like these are what made the Blues fan fall in love with the 29-year-old defender. Check out the brilliant bit of defending here:

  1. Excellent reporting you do realize Everton are the toffees so they weren’t trying to snatch a point they were trying to hold on to 3
