Although Diego Costa left England for Spain at the start of 2018, he still continues to be a thorn in Arsenal’s side as his goal ended up knocking his former rivals out of the Europa League yesterday.

Gooners were hopeful of their team winning Europe’s second tier competition this year as a sort of fairy tale ending to Arsene Wenger’s distinguished career at the helm of the North London club.

But familiar faces returned to haunt the legendary French manager, as an Atletico squad consisting of former Blues including the notorious Diego Costa, right-back Felipe Luis and striker Fernando Torres went through to the finals.

Following the full time whistle, Arsenal stopper Petr Cech was spotted chatting with his formal pals in the tunnel, surely expressing his dissapointment following the narrow but heartbreaking defeat.
