Liverpool star Mo Salah had a stellar season as he was voted the PFA player of the year, Football Writers’ Association Player of the Year and recently rounded his domestic season up by winning the Premier League’s golden boot with an astonishing 32 goals.

The Egyptian maestro has set a new record in the Premier League for most goals in a single season, breaking the previous record of 31 goals jointly shared by Premier League greats Alan Shearer, Luis Suarez and Cristiano Ronaldo.

With the Egyptian set to face Real Madrid for the Champions League later this month, the debate has been raging as to just how good the fleet-footed winger’s feats in England are compared to Real superstar Cristiano Ronaldo’s own accolades during his time at Manchester United.

A poll on Twitter has now tried to shed some light on the matter by asking supporters to like their post in favour of Salah’s current campaign and retweet it in favour of CR7’s magicial 2007/08 season.

And it looks like the fans have spoken with Mo Salah upstaging Ronaldo by a huge margin on the social media website, gaining more than twice the votes that came in for the Portuguese star so far.
