Mesut Ozil has had a hard time this summer so far. The midfield maestro was criticized for his lackluster performances as Germany crashed out of the World Cup in the group stage itself.
Off the pitch too, he was dogged by people questioning his dual nationality and all that drama finally culminated in him retiring from the national team.
But the 29-year-old seems to have turned things around if the two pre season friendlies he’s been involved in for Arsenal are anything to go by.
While he bossed the midfield and even netted a goal against PSG, Ozil’s creative genius was in full display during last night’s game against Chelsea as his exquisite pass in injury time led to the equalizer that paved the way for Arsenal clinching it in penalties.
The moment of magic has left the fans in awe. Check it out for yourself, along with the reactions:

That reverse pass by Ozil to Nelson in the build-up to Lacazette’s goal was worth the entrance fee alone. Superb.

If you told me to sit down and watch in the blank wall for 90 minutes just to witness that Ozil reverse pass in the build-up for Lacazette’s goal I would do it.

Ozil’s reverse pass fooled every player on both teams, Nelson didn’t even expect it. The man is on a level not many players know.
