Ahead of their second leg Europa League qualifying tie against Osijek, Rangers boss Steven Gerrard had called upon fans to ‘take the roof off’ at Ibrox, while also demanding his team to be aggressive from the outset against their outspoken Croatian opponents.

Well, the ex-Liverpool man certainly got what he asked for as the stadium came alive during the 1-1 draw that was enough to send his team sailing into the next round.

The fans turned out in numbers, chanting and singing throughout the whole 90 minutes. The home team went ahead in the 53rd minute thanks to Nikola Katic and the charged up atmosphere inspired the players to hold off their opponents’ late challenge.

Gers’ Colombian forward Alfredo Morelos – who scored the only goal in their first leg victory – absolutely loved it and was seen appreciating the passionate fans.
