Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack’s performance against Osijek in the second leg of the Europa League qualifying fixture was so impressive, that it prompted manager Steven Gerrard to claim he was jealous of his player’s stunning display.

The 26-year-old had a torrid time during his debut season for the Gers last year; being heavily criticised after he started the season with a host of red cards, before sustaining a season-ending injury in December.

But he proved he has moved on from the difficult period and gave a timely reminder of his abilities at Ibrox on Thursday, leaving his manager gushing.

His sublime through ball that set up Morelos for a one-on-one with the Osijek keeper was a delight to watch and an indication of his superb vision.
