Leeds United got off to a stunning start under new manager Marcelo Bielsa as they demolished Stoke City 3-1 in their season opener.
The emphatic performance from largely the same bunch of players that faltered last season had Bielsa’s imprint all over it as the Whites played with creativity and purpose.
As the stadium exploded, the highly rated Argentine himself sat impassively on an inverted bucket and didn’t move for almost the whole game, barely batting an eyelid even when his team scored.
But he made sure none of his players were hiding as his coaching staff was everywhere, barking orders at players and taking notes.
What is interesting though is that the staff’s presence was not just restricted to the technical area. One of the coaches was also spotted in the East Stand, shouting instructions at players like Barry Douglas and Ezgjan Alioski.
