The £3 million Leeds paid to Wolves for Barry Douglas already looks repaid after the left-back whipped in a belter of a corner which Cooper coolly headed home during the 3-1 riot over Stoke City on Sunday.
The 28-year-old was handpicked by Marcelo Bielsa to work as an attacking outlet from the back and has definitely hit the ground running with a solid display at Elland Road.
While players and fans may sometimes get carried away after an emphatic result such as Sunday’s drubbing of the Potters, it looks like there’s no danger of that happening with Douglas.
The Scottish international took to Twitter earlier today, thanking the home crowd for the cracking atmosphere on his debut before keeping things in perspective by warning United not to get carried away this early in the campaign.
Looks like a proper bloke eh! Check out his tweet below:
Fanstastic start to the season and a great atmospehere for my debut in a Leeds shirt 🙌🏼 but it is only one game, it’s important we all don’t get ahead of ourselves so let’s take it game by game always learning and see what we can achieve together #LUFC #MOT #BD3 pic.twitter.com/Z5KCRnOQ0f
