The pressure to produce results is enormous on Rangers new boss Steven Gerrard. Fans of the illustrious club are desperate for them to get back to challenging for the top spot consistently and expect the players to perform at their very best in every match.

With the weight of such huge expectations hanging over their shoulders, players could be forgiven for feeling nervous every time they step on to the pitch.

The presence of seasoned players like Scott Arfield though, must surely help the relatively younger lads to channel that pressure into performances.

The 29-year-old, who wears his heart on his sleeve, impressed with his tireless performance against Maribor last evening. But even before the match could get underway, the midfielder showed just how charged up he was as he let out a passionate and rather x-rated warcry in the tunnel that would have surely inspired all his teammates.

  1. Great to hear such passion from Arfield going out on to the pitch. He plays hard as well–just what we have needed for years –men who go out really determined to win–and to tackle hard. We NOW have quite a few like that in the team, especially Coulibaly, Ryan Jack, Goldstein and Katic. No messing about.

I see us winning the league if we can just bring in a real top quality striker, as we are still a bit powderpuff in that department.

  2. Well said, Scott Arfield. I hope you are not the only one shouting out encouragement–and showing determination to win.
