Chelsea versus Arsenal was one of the most enthralling games of the Premier League season so far, with Blues edging their London rivals 3-2.

The game saw some shambolic defending from both sides, resulting in plenty of goal-scoring opportunities. In the end though, Gunners contributed to their own downfall by missing a host of easy chances and then conceding twice within the first 20 minutes.

Unai Emery’s men did rally back to head into the break on level terms but Marcos Alonso’s 81st minute strike sealed the game for Chelsea.

Arsenal fans however, have reasons to feel incensed after the referee failed to spot a horrible dive by Chelsea debutant Mateo Kovacic and instead awarded a foul in favor of the home team. The resultant free-kick eventually led to the winner.

It’s a shame that a contentious refereeing decision and an act that’s considered a footballing menace ended up deciding the fate of such an exciting match.
