Back in July, Jack Wilshere decided to end his 17-year association with Arsenal after it became clear that he wouldn’t be a regular starter in the team under Unai Emery.
The promising midfielder made almost 200 appearances during his time at the North London club but wasn’t quite able to live up to his early potential due to a slew of injury problems that troubled him over the years.
Since making his switch across London to join West Ham, Wilshere has got a start in each of their 3 opening games but has been on the losing side on all of those occasions.
The latest of those was a 3-1 defeat to the Gunners last weekend. It was an emotional return for the 26-year-old to the Emirates but he couldn’t rise to the occasion and the loss meant that the Hammers are now the only Premier League team yet to earn a point.
The result notwithstanding, Wilshere proved how much of a Gunner he still is when he was spotted checking on his former teammate Granit Xhaka first rather than his West Ham teammate Robert Snodgrass, after the two were involved in a collision.
