Rangers didn’t make life easy for themselves during their final Europa League qualifiers fixture, ending the game with only 9 men as Alfredo Morelos and Jon Flanagan both saw red in Russia.
But a brilliant finish by Ovie Ejaria early in the first half was enough to send the Gers through to the group stages of the European competition 2-1 on aggregate against FC Ufa.
Steven Gerard’s men showed great resolve to hold on to their one goal aggregate lead with midfielder Andy Halliday especially impressing after coming off the bench in the second half.
The Scot’s gritty display was lauded by fans following the game and was also treated to some brotherly affection from the gaffer as Stevie G was spotted affectionately headlocking the 26-year-old after the full time whistle.
