Paul Pogba hasn’t had the best of starts to the Premier League season, with the midfielder coming under heavy criticism for his performances against Brighton and Spurs.

With the French star being linked with a move to Barcelona in January amidst rumours of a fallout with manager Jose Mourinho, Pogba further invited the ire of United fans this week when he refused to rule out a move away from the club.

However, the midfielder who is far from popular among the Old Trafford faithful at the moment took to social media today to do the one thing that is bound to make United fans happy – mocking their arch rivals Liverpool.

Paul Pogba had posted the following picture on his Instagram account and invited fans to try their hands at a caption contest:

After several fans posted various captions, Pogba seemed to pick a winner by ‘liking’ a comment mocking Liverpool. The caption that the United midfielder ‘liked’ had Kylian Mbappe saying to Pogba, “I think Liverpool will win the league this year” to which Pogba turns to Griezmann and responds, “WTF was in his wine”.

United fans on social media couldn’t contain their joy at the sight of their star midfielder poking fun at Liverpool fans’ perpetual assertion that this year was going to be their year. After all, if there’s one way to prove to United fans that you are one of their own, it’s by taking the mickey out of Liverpool.
