It is often said that the unforgiving football schedule these days is really hard on the players. It must be even harder on managers and first team coaches, as not only do they have to tactically prepare the team for a game every few days but they are also under tremendous pressure to get results.
The international break is probably the only time managers get some time off to relax with their families, although they still can’t afford to take their eye of the ball completely. Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino decided to combine both and spend Saturday evening with his family at Wembley Stadium, as he watched England take on Spain in the UEFA Nations League.
The National stadium is of course familiar surroundings for Pochettino, whose Tottenham team played all of their home games at the venue last season. With the news that Tottenham’s new stadium has hit some glitches, the North London side are expected to stay at Wembley a while longer.
It wasn’t a surprise to see Pochettino at the game given the fact that five Spurs players in Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Kieran Trippier, Eric Dier and Danny Rose, were all involved. However, it was a disappointing day at the office for the Tottenham contingent as England ended up on the wrong side of a 2-1 result.
