Southampton captain Steven Davis has been one of the Premier League’s most consistent midfielders over the last six years. The reliable Northern Irishman has been an ever-present in the Saints midfield since their promotion back in 2012 and has a stellar international record, with more than 100 caps to his name.
However, there are signs that the 33-year-old is reaching the twilight of his career as he was restricted to just 23 appearances in all competitions last season. The midfielder has recently spoken out about his frustration at the lack of game-time and revealed that he had a chat with manager Mark Hughes regarding the same.
So, it is only natural that he is being linked with a move away from the Saints but a surprising potential destination has now been touted – Davis’ old club Rangers. A Rangers fan recently ran into Davis and asked him if the midfielder would be interested in a move back to the Glasgow giants. The midfielder far from ruling out a move, responded by saying “may be one day..hopefully”

The video has certainly gotten Rangers fans on social media pretty excited. While it remains to be seen if such a move would be a possibility for Davis, there’s certainly no doubt that the Gers could do with Davis’ experience in midfield.
