Rangers haven’t had the best of starts to the new season with new manager Steven Gerrard. The Scottish giants sit 7th in the table, with five points from four games. In fact, this is the Gers’ worst start to a league campaign in 29 years. However, Gerrard’s men have arguably had a really tough start to the season having played Celtic, Aberdeen and Motherwell away from home in three of those fixtures.
While Gerrard might not have had the best starts on the field, he is certainly showing that he is class act off it. The former Liverpool man has been honest and forthright about his team’s performances with the press so far and this week, the 38-year old did something else that showed yet again what kind of a man he is.
Gerrard has sent a Rangers fan who who was recently diagnosed with cancer, a heart-warming letter conveying his support and thanking the fan for his loyal support to the team on the behalf of all the players and staff at the club. He also conveyed his best wishes in his fight against the disease. It was a gesture that would have certainly meant a lot to the ailing fan.

Rangers fans on social media were proud of the class shown by the club and manager. Rangers fans have really taken to the former Liverpool man since his appointment and if he turns the team’s result around, there’s no doubting that he could soon become a fan-favorite among the Rangers faithful.
