(Video) Things got super awkward for Alexandre Lacazette in the aftermath of an Arsenal goal against Newcastle yesterday

Arsenal continued their recent winning streak as they made it 3 wins in 3 after beating Newcastle United 2-1 at St. James’ Park. The result pushed the Gooners up to the 7th position in the league. Unai Emery named an unchanged side from Arsenal’s away win at Cardiff, with Ozil, Ramsey, Lacazette and Aubameyang forming the attacking quartet.

Arsenal had a few scares at the start after the Magpies began the game on the front foot. However, after the away team settled into the game, they were easily able to pick Newcastle off, courtesy of a brilliant free-kick from Granit Xhaka and a calm finish from Mesut Ozil.

While neither one of Arsenal’s two main strikers, Lacazette or Aubameyang got on the score sheet, they were involved in a really funny incident that many people spotted. While the team was in a huddle celebrating Xhaka’s stunning strike, Lacazette offered Aubameyang a high-five but the Gabon international left Lacazette hanging.

Watch the hilarious moment as the French striker seemed to wait forever looking for someone to high-five –

It was certainly an embarrassing moment for the 27-year-old striker who decided to pat Xhaka on the head after being snubbed by his teammates.

One thing is for sure though, Arsenal fans certainly wouldn’t mind Lacazette firing blanks with his celebrations as long as he continues to produce the goods in front of goal and help the team win games.

  1. Wrong! That’s just Laca carrying on with a bit of mischief he started at Cardiff, when he hit Mustafi at the back of the head during the celebration of his goal, as the defender looked around wondering who’s hit him. My guess is that matter became training ground banter after Mustafi may have seen the video.
