Just five games into the season and things already seem to be going from bad to worse for Newcastle United. The Magpies are yet to taste victory and are second last in the Premier League table with only a point to show for their efforts.

While Rafa Benitez’s men have been unlucky with fixtures list – having already faced four of last year’s top six – such a poor start can quickly drain a team’s morale.

At difficult times like these it’s important for the experienced players to show some passion in order to rally the team around; and on the evidence of one moment during the Toons’ latest defeat against Arsenal on Saturday, Matt Ritchie seems to be one of those players.

Ritchie, who tried his best to make things happen, was spotted furiously shouting at one of his teammates for giving the ball away. While it didn’t prevent his team from going down 2-1, fans would have noticed the winger’s display of pure passion and would be hoping he continues playing with the same spirit in future matches.
