Chelsea have belied their manager Maurizio Sarri’s initial expectations after quickly adapting to his attacking style of play and now sit at the top of the table having won their opening five matches.
Team camaraderie also seems to be flourishing under Sarri and players appear rejuvenated after enduring a troublesome last year.
Among those rejuvenated is David Luiz – who played a key role in the Blues’ title winning season in 2016/17 before being frozen out by former coach Antonio Conte last year. The experienced defender looks happy and is enjoying a new lease of life under Sarri, having started all the games so far.
The 31-year-old Brazilian is known to be a bit of a joker and is an asset when it comes to keeping the morale of the dressing room high.
As Chelsea prepare for their upcoming Europa League encounter against Greek side PAOK, Luiz was spotted trying his hand at boxing with new recruit Jorginho, who has become the team’s driving force on the pitch under Sarri.
