Lucas Torreira put in a great performance to help Arsenal overcome Newcastle 2-1 at the weekend. The midfielder came on as a second half substitute and changed the game, providing much needed solidarity to the Gooners midfield. Although, the 22-year-old midfielder has impressed as a substitute in several games, Unai Emery is yet to hand him a start so far this season.
If rumours are to be believed, the Uruguayan’s wait for a first Arsenal start might finally be over as he is set to be named in the Arsenal eleven that will take on Ukraine’s Vorskla Poltava in their Europa League opener on Thursday.
For all his combative attributes, the 22-year-old who stands at 168 cms isn’t the biggest of players by any stretch of imagination, and it seems Torreira might be guilty of attempting to make himself look taller than he is.
Arsenal fans have spotted Torreira attempting something fishy in their official team photo for 2018/19 season. See if you can spot it too:
As you can see, the Uruguayan is trying to look taller by standing on his toes. Perhaps, it’s not entirely his fault with Mustafi sitting in front of him but it would have probably made more sense to have the midfielder seated in the front row.
