After a difficult start to the season, Rangers have gotten their season back on track with a 4-0 thrashing of Dundee last week. Steven Gerrard’s men will now begin their Europa League group stage with an away game against Villarreal tonight.

While the match looks tough on paper, Rangers fans will certainly be up for the game as it would be their first taste of European football outside of qualifiers for more than 6 years.

The Gers have their work cut out to qualify for the next stage as Spartak Moscow are also part of what looks like one of the toughest groups in the competition. Rangers fans are thus determined to enjoy their involvement in the competition for as long as it lasts, and their enthusiasm was in full display before the game against Villarreal with fans lighting up the street with flares.

Check out this video of Rangers fans making their voices heard in the Spanish city yesterday:

Let’s just say if Steven Gerrard’s men show the same effort on the field today that their fans have off it, they certainly have a chance of getting something from the game.

  1. SG needs to come out and disown anyone who causes damage or danger to anyone or anything in Spain today.
It is time for him, the club executives & managment to unequivocally condemn anyone or anything which brings RFC into disrepute. They should identify them and expell them from all organisations associated with the club.

  2. I’ve got to agree with all at ibrox we don’t want any true supporters to do something that would put others in danger or damage to others property and we don’t want to tarnish the reputation of our club or country be sensible and respect the countries we visit and the locals and club officials no matter if we win or loose use yer Heid you are club ambassadors we should act as such .
