Manchester United started off their Champions League campaign in perfect fashion as they overcame Young Boys 3-0 at Bern. 19-year-old Diogo Dalot was handed his first start for the Red Devils by manager Jose Mourinho, and the Portuguese didn’t miss the opportunity to show what he was capable of.
The 19-year-old, who is just coming back to full fitness after a knee injury, certainly gained rave reviews from his manager who said after the game that the full-back could star for the Red Devils for the next decade.
There was one moment in the game in particular where the teenager showed tremendous skill to skin Young Boys full-back Loris Benito. After Chis Smalling pinged in a pass to Dalot on the right flank, the youngster took one touch on the volley to put it past Benito and ran past him like he wasn’t even there.

With a few question marks over Antonio Valencia’s recent performances now that the Ecuadorian is getting on a bit in terms of his age, Dalot could become a regular feature in the United first team sooner rather than latter.
