Leeds United fans are chuffed to bits at being endorsed by someone who had quite a few successful years playing for their rival clubs.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright, speaking on Sky Sports’ podcast ‘The Debate’, expressed his desire to see the illustrious club getting promoted to the Premier League while also lavishing praise on their supporters for sending him some kind letters making up for all the ribbing he received from them during matches at a vociferous Elland Road.

The former striker’s praise comes at a time when new manager Marcelo Bielsa has ushered in a wave of optimism amongst fans with his attacking, high pressing style of football that has propelled the Whites to top of the Championship table after eight matches.

Wright has always been held in high esteem by the Leeds faithful for the sheer quality of his strikes and the fact that he’s rooting for their return to top flight after 14 years will win him even more admirers.
