Mohamed Salah was back on target as Liverpool continued their flawless start to the season by beating Southampton 3-0 on Saturday.
The Egyptian striker had gone three games without scoring but he put any doubts about his form to rest and came close to scoring several times before converting from close range to triple the hosts’ lead just before half-time.
The 26-year-old’s speed and sharpness was on display throughout the game and one of his efforts that almost resulted in a goal underlined once again his ability to conjure up something special on the field.
After a surging run that left him one-on-one with the keeper and with his back to the goal, Salah attempted an audacious back-heel which just went wide.
It was an unreal effort and had the ball gone in, Salah would surely have been in contention for the Puskas award. Check out how it unfolded:
