After twice coming from behind in the confidence boosting 2-2 draw against Villarreal in their Europa League opener on Thursday, Rangers gave another demonstration of their growing belief under manager Steven Gerrard during the 5-1 demolition of St. Johnstone last night.

The Gers were up and running as soon as the game kicked-off and it didn’t take long for the floodgates to open as skipper James Tavernier scored in the 9th minute from an excellently taken free-kick that sent the Ibrox crowd into raptures.

There were plenty more goals to follow for the Gers, who now sit second on the table, but Tavernier’s sumptuous curler was the best of the lot.

A spectator captured the effort from a brilliant angle that shows the pinpoint precision of the 26-year-old’s shot.
