Having endured a difficult past few days, Celtic bounced back to keep their hopes of winning a third consecutive treble alive with a 1-0 win against St. Johnstone in the Scottish League Cup quarter-final.

As manager Brendan Rodgers said, the victory was psychologically good for the Hoops and they’ve got Leigh Griffiths’ timely strike to thank for it.

Despite dominating the game, the visitors were frustratingly kept at bay by opposition goalkeeper Zander Clark and as the clock ticked by, the game looked headed to penalties.

But thankfully for the Bhoys, Griffiths popped up inside the box to score in the 83rd minute and send his side to the semi-finals. The steely striker then ran all the way to the touchline and proceeded to hug his under-pressure manager as they celebrated the crucial goal.
