Celtic overcame Aberdeen 1-0 in a closely contested tie at Celtic Park on Saturday. While the game involved several noteworthy moments including a world class finish by Scott Sinclair, there was one particular moment that is getting a lot of attention in the press.
The moment in question came towards the end of the first half when Odsonne Edouard was on the receiving end of a wild challenge from Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna. To rub salt into the wounds, referee Bobby Madden didn’t take any action against the defender despite Edouard having to be substituted due to the injury sustained from Mckenna’s wild lunge.
The 20-year-old attacker took to Instagram after the game to post a picture of the lunge and conveyed his disbelief at how the referee didn’t even blow for a foul. Celtic midfielder Scott Brown decided to get involved in the post with a cheeky comment of his own. The 33-year-old who has been no stranger to yellow and red cards in his career, suggested that the referee wouldn’t have been so kind if he was the offender.
