On a frustrating night at Stamford Bridge where Chelsea struggled to find the end product even while dominating possession, the world’s most expensive goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga justified his price tag with some excellent saves to snuff out any chance of an upset against underdogs Videoton.
The Blues’ profligacy in front of goal could have easily come back to haunt them if not for the 24-year-old shot-stopper keeping his focus when the plucky Hungarians broke out to create some dangerous chances of their own.
Even though Alvaro Morata finally managed to find the back of the net in the 70th minute, there’s no denying that the home team had Kepa to thank for sparing them the blushes on their way to the 1-0 victory.
One of the highlights of the Spaniard’s performance was an amazing one-handed save he pulled off, brilliantly getting down low to his right to keep out a goal-bound effort from the visitors. Check it out:
