Leeds United fought back through a late Pontus Jansson header to earn a 1-1 draw against Brentford at Elland Road in a game that was overshadowed by some controversial refereeing decisions.

While Jeremy Simpson’s decision to award a debatable penalty that eventually led to the visitors’ goal was one of the few decisions that had the home supporters all riled up, an attempted headbutt on one of their players going unnoticed has left Leeds supporters fuming.

In a game where Whites’ defender Luke Ayling was given his marching orders in injury time after being shown two yellows, Sergi Canos aiming a headbutt on Ezgjan Alioski during a scuffle in the Brentford dugout surprisingly warranted no action from the man in charge.

Footage of the incident is being widely shared on Twitter by incensed fans. Check it out and tell us your opinion:

  1. Reff turned what should have been a good entertaining game by two good sides into a farce.T he game was never allowed to flow He managed to stop that game no less than 33 times.
Missing the headbutt by Canos was the tip of the iceberg. How the ref (Jeremy Simpson) justifies the sending off of Luke Ayling haveing completely ignoring Mose Odubajo doing the self-same thing is something I would like to hear.

The Dive by Ollie Watkins (I give that a 9 out of 10 by the way only bettered by Tom Daley’s Olympic bronze) was also missed by both him and the 2 linesmen gifting Brentford a penalty which was duly dispatched by Neal Maupay. All in all, Id say Jeremy Simpson completely lost that game but unlike such as Jansson who will be dragged over the coals by the FA for venting his frustration with the whole episode little or nothing will be said about the performance of Simpson .
Brentford got a point out of this game and in all honesty deservedly so they played very well its just a shame that point come out of such a ungamely action
