Even though they haven’t played in the in the top tier of English football since 14 years, Leeds United are still one of the most well supported clubs in England.
While fans of the illustrious club haven’t had much to cheer over the past few years, they’ve continued to come out in numbers and support them during matches.
The commendable loyalty displayed by their supporters over the years finally seems to be paying off with the arrival of their world class manager Marcelo Bielsa.
Bielsa, with his high pressing and attacking style of play, has managed to completely transform the Whites, who look a class above their Championship rivals this season.
With their long standing dream of promotion finally looking like becoming a possibility, the mood is quite positive at Elland Road and support for them seems to be so much that it’s now spiraling outside footballing quarters and quite surprisingly, into the cricket field.
During an ongoing cricket match between England and Sri Lanka being held in the subcontinent, a Leeds United flag – of all things – was spotted in the stands of the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium.
