Having faced his fair share of criticism in the past, Granit Xhaka seems to be slowly coming into his own for Arsenal under new manager Unai Emery.
Emery has started the midfielder in all 8 league matches, pairing him with Matteo Guendouzi and lately, with Lucas Torreira.
The latter’s assured presence – specially his defensive abilities – has allowed Xhaka the freedom to roam forward and be creative.
As a result, the 26-year-old seems to be pushing the ball into more advanced areas than earlier and his incisive passes have played a major role in the Gunners’ run of 6 consecutive league wins.
While there was no club action this week due to the international break, the Swiss gave another glimpse of his skills when he turned up in national colors during the 2-1 victory against Iceland last night.
The Arsenal man went on to provide a sumptuous assist for Haris Seferovic in the 52nd minute to head in the opening goal.
