Leeds United fans were left furious after EFL’s decision to ban their talismanic defender Pontus Jansson for yesterday’s match against Ipswich Town at Elland Road.

The 27-year-old’s fiery comments criticizing the performance of referee Jeremy Simpson in an emotional interview after the 1-1 draw against Brentford, which involved a lot of contentious decisions – including a headbutt for which no card was shown – going against the Whites, were deemed worthy of a one-match ban by the authorities.

Thankfully, the Swede’s absence wasn’t felt as Bielsa’s men triumphed 2-0 against Ipswich to go top of the Championship points table.

In the aftermath of the win, however, the Elland Road faithful showed they’re not yet over the injustice of the decision and took EFL’s official Twitter account to town with some commenters calling them corrupt.
