As the Red Devils have slid down from the lofty standards of Sir Alex Ferguson’s golden era, the voice of discontent amongst the United support has progressively increased over the years.
One man who has especially come to the fore during the struggles is Mark Goldbridge who has become hugely popular on YouTube because of his furious rants at the side’s poor form on his channel United Stand.
🗣 “He broke down and started crying, because his mother recently passed away. I wished him strength and told him that he officiated well. It’s a small thing, but I hope it helped.”

But despite being a United fan it seems the famous YouTuber is growing a soft corner for one of their rival’s biggest stars according to his recent activity on Twitter.

Following Netherlands’ 2-2 draw with Germany in the UEFA Nations league, Goldbridge tweeted about how his opinion regarding Virgil van Djik has changed since initially thinking of the Dutchman as Liverpool’s Chris Smalling and followed it up by praising the defender’s character for consoling the referee about his deceased mother following the full-time whistle.
Check out the tweets below –
Used to call Van Dijk the Dutch Chris Smalling. Courage is having the humility to say you were wrong

Van Dijk hugging the ref after the game last night because the ref had found out just before the game his mum had died. Why the hell weren't United in for him! Not only a good defender a top bloke as well. Can't help but like him
