(Video) Pitchside footage shows how ugly it got during the fight between Arsenal and Spurs players

Along with the thrilling football on display at the Emirates, we were also witness to some touchline drama when Eric Dier’s decision to celebrate in front of Arsenal fans after scoring Tottenham’s first-half equalizer led to an angry confrontation involving a host of players from both teams during the intense North London derby fixture on Sunday.

Having glanced Christian Eriksen’s free-kick inside Bernd Leno’s net, Dier proceeded to hush the home crowd as he ran towards the touchline with his finger on his lips.

As the 24-year-old’s teammates joined him in celebration, the home-team’s substitutes who had been warming up on the sidelines took offence and what resumed was a mass brawl where players almost came to blows.

Thankfully, better sense prevailed and everyone eventually dispersed even though the scowls on their faces took some time to get off.

However, footage of the nasty incident taken from close proximity by a fan has now emerged online and shows just how ugly it had got during the fight. Lucky no one got hurt really.

Have a look at it yourself:

  1. Ugly and unnecessary, though it has to be said Lacazette’s celebration of his penalty success in front of the Spurs fans was somewhat provocative. But good to see the passion of the Arsenal new boys who obviously responded to the sense of the occasion as we took on the old enemy.
