Apart from being one of the best in the business while defending, Virgil van Dijk showed just what he’s capable of while going forward too with a wonderful assist for Liverpool’s second goal during the 3-1 victory over Burnley on Wednesday.
A few minutes after James Milner’s second-half equalizer had brought the Reds back in the game, Alexander-Arnold’s brilliantly taken free-kick was met by a sliding van Dijk near the back-post.
The towering defender’s expertly taken first-touch pass then fell perfectly in the path of Roberto Firmino, who tapped in easily to give Jurgen Klopp’s men the lead.
And while Bobby ran off to celebrate his goal, the inspirational Dutchman got up and just stood his ground while looking at the crowd nonchalantly as if the excellent assist was no big deal for him.
This show of swagger by the 27-year-old is one of the reasons he’s become such an admired figure amongst fans of the Merseyside club.
