After coming off the bench in the opening two Premier League fixtures of the season, Nicolas Pepe started in the big games against Liverpool & Spurs and the Ivory Coast international has already given enough hints that he is one of the players to look forward to this season.

Arsenal delighted their fans when they announced the arrival of Nicolas Pepe from Lille for a club-record fee back in August.

The 24-year-old Ivory Coast international had joined the Gunners for an undisclosed fee believed to be worth £72million.

Pepe’s move eclipsed the £55million spent on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January 2018.

Money well spent as he already looks like the most threatening player going forward every time Arsenal are on the ball.

After doing Andrew Robertson dirty a couple of times and becoming the first player to go past Virgil van Dijk in 2019, Pepe continued the trend when his quick feet left couple of Spurs players for dead.

Pepe scored 22 Ligue 1 goals last season and was linked with a host of clubs over the summer including Manchester United and Napoli.

Arsenal were late to the party but somewhat surprisingly sealed the former Angers player’s services.

As we understand, Pepe’s arrival was triggered when Arsenal’s analysis team pinpointed the need for more pace and skill in attack as a way of improving their form away from home,
