Having a less than fabulous time with a Man United side in transition and having lost his place to Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga in the national team set-up, the world might have forgotten about the brilliance David de Gea possesses in between the sticks.
A poor last season and people seem to ignore the fact the United keeper was perhaps among the top 2 goalkeepers in the world not too long ago.
De Gea was handed his first start in four games after being usurped as first choice by Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga since Roberto Moreno replaced Luis Enrique as national coach.
And the Manchester United player got a surprise chance to prove his worth as the Faroes created a number of opportunities, including a 73rd-minute effort from Joannes Bjartalid which De Gea saved well.
De Gea outstretched his legs like a spider to execute a trademark save after an error from Sergio Ramos had given the minnows a chance in the second half.
More of these for United please Dave! Watch De Dea announce return to form with a banger on international duty –
