While speaking to the press after England’s defeat against Denmark in the Nations League game back in October, manager Gareth Southgate had defended his decision to leave Jack Grealish on the bench because the team needed more ‘pace and athleticism’ in wide areas.
As absurd as it sounded back then, if Mr. Southgate still isn’t convinced about Grealish’s ability from the wide areas, maybe he could have a look at what the Aston Villa star did to Hector Bellerin last night.
Aston Villa put Arsenal to the sword as Jack Grealish, Ross Barkley and Ollie Watkins terrorised and subjected the Gunners to a 3-0 defeat at the Emirates Stadium.
The Birmingham-born winger was at his physical best when he ran from his own half and outpaced & outmuscled Hector Bellerin before releasing a perfectly weighted ball to Ollie Watkins for the third goal on the night.
Imagine the furor if Messi, Ronaldo or Salah did this, check out the incident between Grealish and Bellerin from a brilliant new angle below –
