Timo Werner produces ‘miss of the season’ contender against Rennes

Timo Werner is turning out to be a bit of an enigma in his spell at Chelsea so far.

The German has 7 goals in his last 8 appearances for Chelsea, yet he still regularly misses big chances.

The summer signing from RB Leipzig was at it again when he awfully missed an absolute sitter from point-blank range after a wonderful pass by Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Thankfully for the Blues, Hudson-Odoi has now managed to put his team in the lead.

Werner’s movement, especially inside the box, is perfect but his shooting has often gone wayward since joining Chelsea.

Just imagine the number of goals he would have already if he was slightly more clinical.

Hopefully for Chelsea fans, this is Werner missing all of his sitters just in time for the game against Spurs on Sunday.
