Angelino delivered an all-action performance as RB Leipzig booked their place in the Champions League Round of 16 with a 3-2 win against Manchester United.
Leipzig needed a win to confirm their place and the Spaniard set the tone early with a goal inside two minutes from kick-off.
Angelino was at it again when he turned provider for Amadou Haidara ten minutes later.
With a performance like that, the Manchester City loanee was in no mood to take anyone bring him down and took no prisoners as he called out The Sun for calling him a ‘City reject’ from his official Twitter account.
What reject mate,I decided to go. Have some respect with the headline.— Angelino (@angel_tasende69) December 9, 2020
Angelino was snapped up by Manchester City back in 2012 but things didn’t pan out for the defender as he would have liked as the club sent him on loan to 4 different clubs before selling him permanently to PSV Eindhoven couple of years ago.
A sensational outing in the Eredivisie prompted City to trigger the buy back clause in his contract and Angelino found himself back in Manchester.
But even his second stint with the Citizens turned out to be unsuccessful and he was loaned out to RB Leipzig in January this year.
The loan was extended before the start of the 20/21 campaign and Angelino should make his move to the Bundesliga side permanent next season owing to an appearance clause in his contract.
