The four players Arsenal fans want the team to be built around

It is not the best of times to be an Arsenal supporter right now, as their unnaturally poor form in the Premier League continued in this round of fixtures: the London outfit succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Burnley at home, thanks to a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang own goal.

A lethargic display devoid of any inspiration found fans struggling to take any positives from the performance at all, with the pressure mounting quite heavily on head coach Mikel Arteta with every passing game.

Relegation form

Arsenal have had one of the worst possible starts that one could get in the Premier League, securing only a total of 13 points in 12 games.

It has recently been relegation form for the Gunners as they have lost their last four outings at home, with their last five games resulting in four losses and one draw.

Arsenal are struggling to find a goalscoring outlet with talisman Aubameyang in the middle of a goal drought, and a barrage of tougher fixtures beckoning means that the pressure on Arteta will not be easing up anytime soon.

Four players that deserve to wear the Arsenal kit

Frustrated fans demand a mass exodus from the squad, as they have chosen only a handful of players to be worthy of remaining in the first team set up for the future.

The shortlist includes centre back Gabriel Magalhaes, left back Kieran Tierney, academy graduate Bukayo Saka and their summer midfield signing Thomas Partey.

According to fans on Twitter, the aforementioned players have been chosen as the core that Arsenal should be looking to build their team around: the sole impactful performers in a very underperforming Arsenal unit this season so far.

While Gabriel’s inclusion is one which will potentially calm Arsenal’s porous defence, Kieran Tierney provides long-term stability at left back: Saka provides energy and versatility while Partey on his day, is one of the best defensive midfielders in the world.
