Jose Mourinho caught saying ‘stay here or go to Madrid and play no football’ amid Gareth Bale concerns

Jose Mourinho was caught on camera trying to persuade one of the Tottenham players to stay at the North London club rather than going to Real Madrid.

Spurs fans turned on their detective mode as the club released footage of the players in training before the clash against Sheffield United on Saturday.

At one point, Jose could be heard saying – “You want to stay here or go to Madrid and play no football?”

There is a good chance the player Jose is talking to is Gareth Bale.

The Welshman has rarely featured after joining his old side back in September last year on a season long loan.

Daily Mail also reported yesterday that Tottenham are ‘unlikely to extend Gareth Bale’s loan for a second season’ with the Welsh star set to return to Real Madrid this summer after playing just 161 minutes of Premier League football.

Jose could very well be convincing Bale to lower his salary demands so that Spurs could his retain his services for the next season as well. The 31-year-old is almost certain to get next to no playing time with Zinedine Zidane at the helm at Real Madrid.

Currently, both Spurs and Real Madrid equally share Bale’s £600,000-a-week wages.
