West Ham United have been having an extraordinary season so far in the Premier League this season. The East London outfit currently sits in a UEFA Champions League spot in February, with only thirteen games left to play in this season.
David Moyes has got his Hammers right on top of their opponents’ nails this season – West Ham are the highest placed London side on the league table – currently residing above some of their star-studded city rivals in Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.
Not only have the Hammers been classy on the pitch all season so far, but some of the footballers have also shined off the pitch as well – such has recently been the case of Arthur Masuaku and Issa Diop, as revealed by a West Ham fan.
Masuaku and Diop’s incredible gesture was recently revealed to the masses on social media by one of the West Ham following on Twitter. The West Ham fan revealed what the two footballers did for his cousin who is hospitalized with leukaemia – Masuaku and Diop sent his sick cousin a personalized video message, accompanied by a signed shirt and a pair of boots.
The gesture has been applauded by West Ham followers, as well as rival fans and neutrals – as it is for one of those causes that bridge the gap between even the fiercest of rivals.
Masuaku and Diop have been appreciated as legends by the fan for their immense gesture which really exemplifies everything beautiful about the game of football and is likely to have made his sick cousin’s week – and probably the weekend as well, as West Ham went on to defeat Tottenham Hotspur by a margin of 2-1 in Sunday’s derby at the London Stadium.
Not been on Twitter for a while but just wanted to say that @ArthurMasuaku and @IssaDiop97 are absolute legends.— ⚽️⚒TOM'S WHUFC⚒⚽️ (@aldredtj) February 22, 2021
