Alfredo Morelos is probably one of the most bizarre characters alive in the game of football. The Rangers forward is known for his furious nature on the pitch but showed he has an equally kind side to him as well in the game against Royal Antwerp.
The Gers are currently involved in the second leg of their round of 16 tie with the Belgian outfit at Ibrox. Steven Gerrard’s men are leading the game 3-2 with goals from Morelos, Patterson and Kent.
In a game of such high magnitude, you wouldn’t have blamed Morelos for continuing the play when a Royal Antwerp defender pulled up injured on the sidelines.
But much to the surprise of everyone, the Rangers striker stopped the play instead of seeking an advantage. A host of Antwerp players were seen praising the Colombian for his sportsmanship.
Even Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku took to Twitter in praise of the Rangers man – “Fair play to Morelos from Glasgow rangers. Through on goal and stopping for an injury of the opponent. Great sportsmanship.”
