Leeds United finally ended their curse of not being able to win in London in a long time (17 games to be precise) with a 2-1 victory against Fulham at Craven Cottage last night.
It had been 39 months since the Whites last experienced a triumph in the English capital, a 3-1 victory against QPR back in December 2017 when the current Rangers forward Kemar Roofe scored a hat-trick at Loftus Road.
Scott Parker’s Fulham fought hard on the night but were eventually reeled into playing a game of football which Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United thrives upon.
Despite the Whites dominating proceedings with two disallowed goals, the game was a lot more equal in the first half with Fulham creating enough chances as well. But their failure to convert the said chances hurt them bad when Leeds United went ahead courtesy of a goal from Patrick Bamford.
Joachim Andersen did pull one back for the Cottagers a few minutes later but the game was dusted when Raphinha tore through the Fulham defence to score a sublime goal in the second half.
The likes of Stuart Dallas, Kalvin Phillips and Jack Harrison came into their own as the match progressed as Leeds United took another big step towards mathematically securing their survival in the Premier League.
Leeds United fans worldwide were buoyant with another class display from their side and celebrated breaking (finally!) the London hoodoo on Twitter. Here are some of the best reactions –

39 months under Bielsa and finally a win in London. Was a crazy trend. 39 points now. Job done.— Diarmuid Nolan (@dermonolan91) March 19, 2021
A nice pick-me-up after the last 2 days of perpetual losers at Cheltenham. Hon Leeds 💪💪 #lufc
